Provincial Outreach Program for Students with Deafblindness

If you are interested in learning more about deafblindness and Intervention, here are a few resources and programs that we have come across that you may find interesting. 

Sign Language Beginner 1 at The University of British Columbia (UBC) through UBC Extended Learning.
Many online course sections available starting in January. Cost: $380.

 

Open Hands, Open Learning
The National Center on Deafblindness offers learning modules with videos and information about deaflbindness and Intervention. 

 

Helen Keller Center: Online Learning
At the Helen Keller Center, you can partake in online training modules on deafblindness and Intervention. There is a fee for courses with costs in American dollars. 

 

Perkins School for the Blind
Perkins offers a wide variety of webinar topics pertaining to deafblindness and Intervention. Search their database to see what is available.

 

Hadley College
Hadley Institute for Professional Studies offers distance education learning. Courses are available to anyone who works directly with individuals who are blind, visually impaired, or deafblind. There may be some costs associated with different courses.

 

Gallaudet College
Gaullaudet College offers online learning and networking for professionals who work with children who are deaf and hard of hearing from birth to age 21. Families may also take the courses. Courses are free.
